East Lincoln Christian Ministries Family Fashion Store
Looking for a new opportunity to serve? Courtney and Jeff Quasny just accepted the day-to-day management responsibilities for East Lincoln Christian Ministries’ Family Fashions location on Hwy 150, where upscale clothing and accessories are offered.
The store is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. They need volunteers that can work any or all three days, starting at 9:30 am, ending minutes after closing. Retail experience is not needed. As with most of the ministries supported through Helping Hands, they simply seek folks with a humble and giving heart who wish to support ELCM through this work.
If you didn’t know, ELCM is a wonderful local resource that provides groceries, crisis assistance, free income tax service, a home meals ministry, and more. Most of this is funded through furniture and clothing sales. Please contact Jeff, at the email below with questions or if you’re interested in serving through this ministry.
For more information, please email Jeff at quasnyj@gmail.com.

Outreach Partners
Journey of Hope Ministry
Journey of Hope Ministry is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 2019. Our mission is to help those experiencing chronic homelessness and/or those in danger of becoming homeless by providing love, support and tangible items that are needed daily. Journey of Hope Ministry was created to provide Christ-centered services to the poor, hungry and the unsheltered homeless through outreach, food/meals, blessing bags and advocacy.
For our unsheltered homeless community, we provide daily essential items such as food blessing bags, blankets, bug spray, fast-food gift card ($10), socks. For a complete list of donation items, please check out our website.
In 2024 we expanded our resources with rental assistance and food assistance.
Rental Assistance is provided to those that are in danger of being evicted from their home. Individuals that apply for this assistance are eligible once a year. Those seeking rental assistance will need to enroll and complete our Financial Literacy classes. These classes meet once a month for a minimum of 3 months. They will learn how to create a budget, identify areas for improvement in their spending habits, and begin the task of eliminating unnecessary debt. Our goal is to provide individuals with the tools necessary to make sound & stable financial decisions.
Food Assistance is available for those whose EBT is just not enough to provide food needed for their household. The assistance comes in the form of an Aldi gift card and they are eligible once every 6 months. We will also connect them to various food pantry resources.
For more information on how to partner with Journey of Hope Ministry or to donate to the ministry, please email us at journeyofhopeministry@gmail.com or call our office at 704-240-3177.
Room in the Inn
For the past 10+ years Pursuit Church has opened its facilities to provide shelter and food for homeless people during the winter months, December 1 – March 31. This year is different, we will be partnering with 10 other churches in the local community to make this happen every Friday night. We also will be picking up the Neighbors from Lincoln County.
We will offer a warm, safe place to sleep, serves two hot meals (dinner and breakfast) and then return our guests the following morning to downtown Lincolnton. The program offers a unique way for people of faith to become directly involved with individuals who are homeless. The basic goal is to keep homeless people from freezing on cold winter nights. A greater goal is to provide a more personal relationship to homeless people, at least for a night, and to foster a deeper understanding of the depth and complexity of the issue.
HeartBeats – A Pregnancy Care Center
Heartbeats – A Pregnancy Care center exists to assist women to carry to term by providing emotional support and practical assistance. Through God’s people and the community at large, women can face the future with hope and plan constructively for themselves and their babies.
There are several ways that you can become involved to help Heartbeats succeed in their mission. Through the “Baby Bottle Boomerang” fundraiser which is held at the end of April. Take a specially labeled baby bottle – fill a bottle with change and change a life.
The other way is the Annual Pregnancy Care Center Walk 4 Life Event. This is a fun family-friendly 2 mile walk, a 5k Trail Run and a Motorcycle Ride that is held at the Denver Baptist Church – West Campus in September. Fundraising for this event starts in August.
All the money raised is given to the Pregnancy Care Center. For more information on how you can become involved, please email us at: connect@pursuitchurch.org
