2025 Missions and Outreach Opportunities

Get Involved in Local Outreach

Be the hands and feet of Jesus right here in our community. We believe every person has a unique role to play in sharing God’s love with our community. Through our Local Outreach Ministry, volunteers serve in practical, relational, and spiritual ways — from preparing meals and greeting guests to offering prayer, encouragement, and support to those in need.
If you’re ready to make a difference, we’d love to help you find your place to serve!
Whether you’ve volunteered for years or are just beginning your journey, there’s a role for you.
Sign up today using our Local Outreach Volunteer Interest Form to share your availability, areas of interest, and how you’d like to serve. Click the link below.
Once you sign up, our team will follow up with next steps, training details, and this season’s outreach opportunities.
“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16

Request for Assistance

At Pursuit Church, we believe God has called us to love and serve one another. We know that life can bring unexpected challenges, and you don’t have to face them alone. If you are in need of financial assistance or other support, we want to walk with you in both practical help and prayer. Our desire is to reflect the love of Christ by offering encouragement, hope, and care. Please let us know how we can come alongside you.

East Lincoln Christian Ministries Family Fashion Store

Looking for a new opportunity to serve? Courtney and Jeff Quasny just accepted the day-to-day management responsibilities for East Lincoln Christian Ministries’ Family Fashions location on Hwy 150, where upscale clothing and accessories are offered.
The store is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. They need volunteers that can work any or all three days, starting at 9:30 am, ending minutes after closing. Retail experience is not needed. As with most of the ministries supported through Helping Hands, they simply seek folks with a humble and giving heart who wish to support ELCM through this work.
If you didn’t know, ELCM is a wonderful local resource that provides groceries, crisis assistance, free income tax service, a home meals ministry, and more. Most of this is funded through furniture and clothing sales. Please contact Jeff, at the email below with questions or if you’re interested in serving through this ministry.
For more information, please email Jeff at quasnyj@gmail.com.

Journey of Hope Ministry

Journey of Hope Ministry is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 2019. Our mission is to help those experiencing chronic homelessness and/or those in danger of becoming homeless by providing love, support and tangible items that are needed daily. Journey of Hope Ministry was created to provide Christ-centered services to the poor, hungry and the unsheltered homeless through outreach, food/meals, blessing bags and advocacy.

For our unsheltered homeless community, we provide daily essential items such as food blessing bags, blankets, bug spray, fast-food gift card ($10), socks. For a complete list of donation items, please check out our website.

In 2024 we expanded our resources with rental assistance and food assistance.

Rental Assistance is provided to those that are in danger of being evicted from their home. Individuals that apply for this assistance are eligible once a year. Those seeking rental assistance will need to enroll and complete our Financial Literacy classes. These classes meet once a month for a minimum of 3 months. They will learn how to create a budget, identify areas for improvement in their spending habits, and begin the task of eliminating unnecessary debt. Our goal is to provide individuals with the tools necessary to make sound & stable financial decisions.

Food Assistance is available for those whose EBT is just not enough to provide food needed for their household. The assistance comes in the form of an Aldi gift card and they are eligible once every 6 months. We will also connect them to various food pantry resources.

For more information on how to partner with Journey of Hope Ministry or to donate to the ministry, please email us at journeyofhopeministry@gmail.com or call our office at 704-240-3177.

Room in the Inn

Room in the Inn exists to create a sanctuary where those experiencing homelessness can find rest for both body and soul. It is a place where worship abounds, the Gospel of peace is declared, and the love and light of Jesus Christ are reflected through every act of service. Within this sacred space, hearts are healed, hope is restored, and dignity is renewed. Our vision is to connect those experiencing homelessness with the body of Christ—the Church—and to guide them toward resources and relationships that lead to lasting restoration and wholeness in Him.
The mission of Room in the Inn is to extend the compassion of Christ by providing a safe, loving, and Spirit-filled environment for those experiencing homelessness. Through acts of hospitality, worship, prayer, and service, we seek to meet both physical and spiritual needs—offering food, shelter, encouragement, and the hope found in Jesus Christ. We partner with local churches and community organizations to build pathways toward stability, restoration, and transformation, leading each person closer to the heart of God and the life He intended for them.
Room in the Inn gathers on Friday nights and Saturday mornings during two ministry seasons — December through March and July through August.

HeartBeats – A Pregnancy Care Center

Heartbeats – A Pregnancy Care center exists to assist women to carry to term by providing emotional support and practical assistance. Through God’s people and the community at large, women can face the future with hope and plan constructively for themselves and their babies.

There are several ways that you can become involved to help Heartbeats succeed in their mission. Through the “Baby Bottle Boomerang” fundraiser which is held at the end of April. Take a specially labeled baby bottle – fill a bottle with change and change a life.

The other way is the Annual Pregnancy Care Center Walk 4 Life Event. This is a fun family-friendly 2 mile walk, a 5k Trail Run and a Motorcycle Ride that is held at the Denver Baptist Church – West Campus in September. Fundraising for this event starts in August.

All the money raised is given to the Pregnancy Care Center. For more information on how you can become involved, please email us at: connect@pursuitchurch.org

Operation Giving Hope

Operation Giving Hope is a program that was created to pour God’s love into our local community.

We have an annual event each Christmas and we are excited!  Operation Giving Hope, along with the help of many other local charities takes families in need from our local community and provides a Christmas experience.

We collect funds through October & November, and have a huge wrapping party in December.  Volunteers are needed for the wrapping party and the delivery of the gifts the week of Christmas.

4:12 Student Ministries

4:12 Student Ministries Inc. is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 2015 to develop and empower selfless leaders in the lives of the next generation by uncovering their identity in Christ. The ministry currently serves 120-150 students from multiple backgrounds every Thursday afternoon, providing transportation from 2 elementary schools and 1 middle school in the Maiden, NC community. Students are brought to Lawings Chapel Baptist Church where they are provided an afterschool snack, participate in team building activities, inreach opportunities, and receive the gospel through worship, bible study, and prayer led by church and community leaders. 4:12 relies solely upon financial donations and the willingness of volunteers to provide transportation, a place to meet, and offer student support, engagement, and discipleship.
